McAneny Lawyers prefer to be upfront about the way we charge legal costs. Where possible, McAneny Lawyers gives a realistic fixed price estimate of legal fees before you instruct us to commence work on your behalf.
As a niche, boutique firm, we do not have the business overheads that many of our city counterparts include. With that in mind, our approach to billing is to charge you fairly, for quality legal work, without the hidden ‘ad-ons’.
We are able to offer multiple billing options, such as:
- Fixed fee costing - for simple matters such as wills, powers of attorney, guardianship documents, leasing, and the purchase and sale of real estate.
- ‘Stage’ based costing - for litigation matters where the court process is fairly rigid – e.g. criminal law hearings, or straightforward civil litigation proceedings).
- Time based costing - for more complex matters such as family provisions claims, family law property settlements and parenting matters where the work completed is based upon individual circumstances and the complexity of each case. We may also suggest this method to you for your consideration where your matter is very simple and a ‘fixed fee’ approach is not appropriate.
- No win / no fee, or payment upon settlement – in some select matters, McAneny Lawyers are prepared to act for clients who may not otherwise be in a financial position to engage a solicitor, but have a claim that has reasonable prospects of success. Please ask us about this method of charging if you think it may be applicable to you.
